Frequently asked questions.

How much?

This is a complicated question! Firstly VO is priced differently in different countries, and often rates differ from artist to artist. To give you an idea of industry standard prices I really recommend checking out this rate card from Gravy For The Brain. My rates are in line with these but if it all looks a bit complicated just drop me a line with your script, the usage of your project, and (if you have one) the budget. One thing to consider is the usage fee for the voiceover. This article is a great explanation of what that is and why it matters.

Can I direct you in your studio?

Yes! I actually love it when a director, producer or end client wants to do this because it means I can speak to an actual human being! Generally I use Cleanfeed or Source Connect Now, but good ol’ fashioned Skype or Zoom is also an option and I’ll record the audio at my end.

When can I expect my audio?

Same day or next day for the majority of projects. I’m a full-time VO artist and part of my job is to be fully available for your project. Whenever you send over the script just let me know your deadline and I’ll do my very best to meet it.

Do I have to use your home studio?

No, not at all. I’m happy to travel to other studios. I’m based in Norwich, UK and often travel to London for recordings. That said…if you need me to be in Edinburgh at short notice…you might need to cover the flights!

Please also consider, with the current Covid 19 crisis, studios need to prove they are hygienic, socially distant and taking adequate safety precautions to protect those involved in the recording. A high quality home studio will be safer, easier and cheaper.

Do you offer other services besides VO?

Yes, I’m go glad you asked! You can see clips from my presenting showreel in the tab above, as well as some of the podcasts I edit. But in a nutshell, here’s what I can offer:

  • Editing and cleaning audio.

  • Mixing audio with music, video and SFX.

  • File splitting (chargeable extra for over 10 files)

  • Proof-reading and scripting.

  • Conducting and recording interviews (for podcasts etc).

  • Presenting and event hosting.

I’m a voiceover artist too! Can I use your booth please?

Hello friend! Of course, if you’re in the Norwich/Norfolk area I’d be very happy to hire out the booth on a hourly basis. Get in touch to discuss more.
